Our Services

  • Individualised Assessment & Therapy

We can help your child if they have difficulties in the following areas:

Receptive Language: The ability to understand both spoken and written language, as well as following instructions.

Expressive Language: The ability to use words, sentences, or gestures to communicate wants and needs. This also includes the use of alternative ways of communicating (i.e. AAC such as ProloQuo2Go, LAMP, etc.)

Speech / Articulation: The ability to produce different sounds clearly and to be correctly understood by others.

Social Skills: The ability to use language to communicate effectively and engage with others, maintain relationships and make friends.

Fluency (stuttering): The ability to produce fluent speech without stops, repetitions, or prolonged sounds.

Voice: The ability to speak with correct quality, volume, tone, pitch and awareness of voice. We can provide strategies to help children maintain a clear, strong voice.

  • Whole School-Based Services

We also provide whole-school services that are catered to the needs of the school. These services can include:

Whole Class Support: The speech pathologist works closely with the school teacher to tailor a program that supports the teacher’s planned curriculum and aligns with NESA outcomes. We endeavour to create ‘language rich’ classrooms that students at all levels and abilities benefit from. Whole class support can cover receptive and expressive language, and other literacy skills (i.e. pre-literacy skills such as phonics and phonological awareness skills.).

Small Group Intervention: Groups of 4-5 students identified are withdrawn from class to consolidate whole-class targeted concepts. These children are screened, and a tailored plan to support their needs are given to the school and their teachers.

Professional Development and In-servicing: We can provide staff professional development, including on areas such as language, speech, literacy (including reading, spelling), and alternative and augmentative communication. These topics can be chosen with your speech pathologist.
